Tennessee Valley Archaeological Research (TVAR) is a women-owned cultural resource management firm headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama. Since 2008, we have provided high-quality archaeological and historic preservation services to federal agencies, state departments of transportation, engineering firms, private developers, and utility companies across the Southeast.

Our team is composed of RPA-certified archaeologists, GIS specialists, laboratory analysts, and historic preservation experts who bring both academic rigor and field experience to every project.
Positions We Hire For
TVAR staffing needs vary based on active project workloads. Positions we regularly recruit for include:
- Archaeological Field Technicians — Phase I, II, and III survey and excavation support
- Project Archaeologists — Field direction, report writing, Section 106 compliance
- Principal Investigators — Project management, client communication, regulatory coordination
- GIS Analysts — Spatial data management, remote sensing, predictive modeling
- Laboratory Analysts — Artifact processing, cataloging, and report support
- Historic Preservation Specialists — Section 106, NHPA compliance, architectural history
